About INTA
How Committees Work
Led by chairs and vice chairs, committees are typically streamlined into subcommittees that focus on specific topics or regions. Committee members collaborate on specific objectives that align with our strategic plan. We welcome new voices during each committee selection process.
Expectations for Committee Leadership and Members
Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs
Committee chairs and vice chairs have a general responsibility to promote INTA to professional colleagues, encouraging non-members to join us and to become active participants. They should generally inform the public and others about us and mention their affiliation, when appropriate, in press interviews, articles, and speaking engagements.

Committee Members
Committee volunteers are appointed for a two-year committee term. Committee members may serve on the same committee for two consecutive terms (four years total). They may then apply to serve on a different committee, if they so choose.
Adding and Sunsetting Committees
The Planning Committee of the Board is tasked with making recommendations regarding INTA’s committee structure for approval by the full Board of Directors. The process accommodates proposals from members to add or sunset a committee, and at the same time allows the proposals to be vetted by INTA leaders to ensure that we are keeping in mind the resources and strategic directions of the Association when considering these requests.
Acceptance of proposals to add or sunset committees is now closed for the 2024-2025 committee term.
