About INTA
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

INTA’s DEI Mission Statement
At INTA, we are committed to fostering a global trademark and intellectual property (IP) community that thrives on the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a member-driven organization, we strive to create an environment where every member, regardless of their background, identity, ability, or perspective, feels valued, heard, and empowered. We aim to actively promote diversity in all its forms, ensure equal access to opportunities, and champion a culture of inclusivity that celebrates the richness of our international membership.
Through our collective efforts, internally and externally, we strive to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that fulfills the Association’s commitment to fostering consumer trust, economic growth, innovation, and a better society through brands.
Diversity
Diversity encourages and supports differences within INTA, its members, and the broader IP community, including but not limited to age, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, identity, sexual orientation, abilities and disabilities (both visible and non-visible), and religion.
We believe INTA and the global IP community thrive when individuals with different thoughts, perspectives, beliefs, languages, backgrounds, identities, abilities, and life experiences collaborate to accomplish shared goals.
This means we as a global association of brand owners and professionals, as well as a trusted advocate for the social value of brands, will continuously evolve how we communicate and engage with one another and create relevant opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
Equity
Equity refers to the provision of fair procedures and processes within INTA as an association, as well as for our membership and INTA programming and engagements.
We believe that by adhering to and championing the principle of equity, we can attract, nurture, and retain a high caliber of professional management, directors, committee leadership, and membership who will contribute to the sustainable development of the association and help them advance in their own career and professional mobility.
This means we will endeavor to identify and eliminate barriers to equal access and treatment in our operations and association-led events and offerings to ensure INTA personnel and membership can realize their full potential.
Inclusion
Inclusion ensures that all individuals in our organization (staff, directors, committee leaders and volunteers, and all members) feel valued, respected, and accepted to share their ideas, perspectives, and concerns.
We believe open and inclusive environments support and encourage all people who make up INTA to shine and achieve their individual and shared goals.
This means we will keep an open door to hear from our collective membership and invite their participation in group affairs and activities to strengthen our culture and sense of belonging, for everyone.
The DEI Council—one of 11 recommendations of INTA’s Presidential Task Force Report on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion—advises INTA’s President and CEO on ways to increase awareness and visibility of DEI initiatives within the Association, support the inclusion of DEI themes and actions as part of INTA’s permanent culture, and promote the Association’s role as a thought leader for brands and the IP profession, contributing to a better society for all.
