2025 Trademark Administrators and Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting
September 28, 2025 - September 30, 2025
Berlin, Germany

The 2025 Trademark Administrators & Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting is this year’s must-attend event for trademark administrators, paralegals, young practitioners, and attorneys who oversee global trademark portfolios. And INTA is thrilled to host this event in Germany’s vibrant capital of Berlin.
Renowned for its thriving networking culture, Berlin is also a significant hub for intellectual property (IP). The city’s dynamic economy, marked by a burgeoning startup scene and a diverse range of industries—including technology, fashion, and media—makes it a key player in the IP landscape.
As always, our educational sessions will cover key developments in trademark law and best practices in brand protection. Also look for sessions on a wide range of additional current topics, including managing well-known marks in challenging times, sustainable destruction of counterfeit goods in light of new European Union regulations, Artificial Intelligence and misappropriation of a name, image, and likeness, the use of IP as collateral, and more. Speakers will equip you with the knowledge, tools, and skills to lead your organization through these and many other trademark and brand-related issues.
Opportunities abound for business development in this beautiful city. As a melting pot of cultures and industries, Berlin’s creative and artistic vibe offers an inspiring environment to connect with colleagues and foster new relationships. Don’t miss out on TMAP going international in 2025!

German VAT Recovery
Businesses, which are not VAT registered in Germany, depending on where they are established, have two options to recover VAT:
- EU established businesses will use the so called Refund Directive mechanism which they must be very familiar with as they would apply for the German input VAT deduction via electronic portal in the EU country where they are established. Claims have to be submitted by September 30th for VAT incurred in the previous calendar year. All information can be found here.
- Non-EU established businesses can apply for the VAT recovery only as long as they are established in one of the “reciprocal” countries. Companies from countries listed here (information only available in German) can not recover the VAT via this recovery process. Companies from countries not listed can recover VAT via this recovery process and can find all necessary information here.
