The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative Report and Best Practices Toolkit

Read the September 2022 Report Update.
In line with our strategic direction to foster diversity and inclusion and advance corporate social responsibility, The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative champions the development of strong leadership skills for all women in the intellectual property (IP) field to empower them to advance their careers to the next level.
2020 President Ayala Deutsch prioritized this issue during her term, and we launched The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative to coincide with International Women’s Day, March 8, 2020. Through the Initiative, we’re working to address the under-representation of women in IP and bridge career development and leadership gaps for women in this field, regardless of geographic region, job title, or job function.
As an outgrowth of this project, and to mark the nearly one-year anniversary of its formation, we’ve just published The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative and Best Practices Toolkit— summarizing key findings and recommending best practices that organizations can implement to foster inclusion and career development opportunities for women.
The Update to The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative Report highlights trends observed since the Report was originally published in early 2021 and demonstrates the unique challenges women continue to confront in the workplace, including those resulting from the global COVID-19 pandemic.
With our up-to-date research comes our commitment to continue the Initiative as a sustained and permanent program “that actively champions women as leaders in IP.”
